As US forces withdraw from the region, air campaigns against the Islamic State continue in Iraq and Syria. Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve has released that throughout November 2020 they conducted 14 airstrikes consisting of 34 total engagements in Iraq and Syria. In Iraq 35 ISIS members were killed and weapon stockpiles were destroyed. “CJTF-OIR and partner forces have liberated nearly 110,000 square kilometers (42,471 square miles) from Daesh. As a result, 7.7 million people no longer live under Daesh oppression,” the coalition stated.
