Navy Chief Special Warfare Operator Tony E. DeDolph and Marine Gunnery Sgt. Mario Madera-Rodriguez will be facing three-week trials within the next couple months. Both trails were originally supposed to take place in spring of 2020 but were delayed due to COVID-19. Both defendants face the following charges: conspiracy, assault, hazing, obstruction of justice, burglary, involuntary manslaughter, and felony murder. Two other defendants already pleaded guilty on related charges and will be testifying during the trials. Green Beret Staff Sgt. Logan Melgar was “hazed” by the four men while in Africa and put in a chokehold that caused him to stop breathing, and he later died at a medically facility.
