Special Forces doctor awarded for saving lives despite his own injuries following a motorcycle accident | Task & Purpose

In Tampa, Florida two motorcycles ran into Lt. Col. Larry Wyatt and retired Col. Thomas Wells after losing control. Although Wyatt sustained his own serious injuries, he was able to save the lives of the others injured and knocked unconscious. He has served eight combat tours including Operation Desert Storm and campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan where he was served as a Green Beret in numerous medical roles. “Wyatt’s personal example of selfless service, superb medical knowledge, and unhesitating decisive action are consistent with the greatest traditions of our uniformed services and played a pivotal role in saving the lives of two individuals, including himself,” states his award citation.
