America’s East Africa military hub sees spike in activity as Somalia withdrawals continue | The Drive

Aviation activity has grown exponentially at Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti as the United States military continues to leave Somalia. The U.S. Navy also has an increased presence off the coast of Somalia as the USS Nimitz, USS Makin Island, and USS Hershel “Woody” Williams are supporting the withdrawal. Over a dozen C-130s can be seen at the Camp Lemonnier complex along with two C-146A Wolfhound special operations transport planes. Air Force and Marine Corps CV-22s that are a part of the U.S. special operations aviation element at the camp are present as well.
