Part of the Iraqi-Syrian border is controlled by the Kurdish. The KRG Prime Minister Masrour Barzani has now requested that US troops deploy to the border to help monitor smuggling and terror groups. This comes shortly after Barzani made a formal request with the commanding general of the Special Operations Joint Task-Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, Brig. Gen. Guillaume Beaurpere. The State Department and the US Central Command have not yet commented on the request.
