Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, a team of Afghan commandos backed by United States Special Forces soldiers repelled numerous heavy attacks by Taliban fighters in the Kandahar province. Almost 70 Taliban fighters were killed and another 40 wounded when they attacked several security checkpoints, with the terrorist’s head of intelligence and a district commander among the dead.

Special Forces Operations Detachment – Alpha from 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) is completing combat dive training in the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado. The diving is completed in multiple reservoirs and cave systems inside the mountain that have several functions, including cooling the mountain’s generators. The OIC has commented on their appreciation and excitement for the training that allows them to demonstrate their capabilities as a maritime force.
