Revisiting Oman: A model for integrating conventional and Special Operations advisors in Security Force Assistance | Small Wars Journal

As the United States begin to prepare for conflict against larger nations such as Russia and China, smaller low-intensity conflict will still remain. The Army has stood up Security Force Assistance Brigades in order to allow other combat brigades to train for large scale combat in recent years. The United Kingdom’s military response to the Dhofar insurgency in the 1970s can be used as an example for integrating special operations and conventional efforts into campaigns.
