VX-20, Pax SAR teams assist in rescue of downed Hawkeye crew | The Bay Net

A P-8A Poseidon assigned to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20, local firefighters, and personnel from NASA’s Wallops Flight Facilit all worked together to locate downed aviators. The P-8A were near Maryland’s Eastern Shore during a captive carry test when they received a transmission that a nearby aircraft was possibly down. NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility were able to help provide a location. Three of the crew members were found near the crash sight uninjured, and the fourth member was found in a nearby forest.
