Trump approves Congressional Gold Medal for legendary WWII jungle fighters known as ‘Merrill’s Marauders’ | Task & Purpose

Merrill’s Marauders gained a reputation for resigning on forbidden terrain that required endurance for long range and intense fighting. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest civilian honor that Congress can give and usually is given to individuals, but an exception is made for distinguished units such as this one.
