Montana National Guard aircrew rescues hikers at 9,300 feet | Task & Purpose

The team received the distress call around 2pm and were able to make it to approximate area at Holland Peak by 4pm. The civilians were hoisted and helped by the team members into the helicopter about 100ft off the ground. After dealing with turbulent winds, the crew landed safely at the Condon Airfield and the hikers were transported by ambulance to the hospital. Capt. Tom Meredith, the pilot in command during the rescue mission said “Over the last 12 months, we have done extensive training for scenarios just like this. We were able to bring it all together for the mission on Monday in a dynamic environment, at a high altitude and turbulent winds.”
