Sailors receive awards for thwarting a gunman who attacked Naval Air Station Corpus Christi | Task & Purpose

When the gunman who was identified as Adam Alashi attempted to get into a Naval Air Station base, he shot Master-at-Arms Second Class Petty Officer Yaisa Coburn after he was not allowed in. She was wearing protective gear and even while shot managed to blockade the gate and not let him in. They also recognized a bomb to be in Alashi car and managed to get all personnel out of harm’s way. No one died except for Alashi. These soldiers are being awarded and recognized for their bravery and ability to stop a tragedy.
