The private security firm, Atlas Aegis, posted an online job asking for military personnel interested in security positions. The online advertisement mentioned the protection of election polls, businesses, and residences from looting and destruction during election time. Company chairman Anthony Caudle stated the private security firm would be sending a “large contingent” to Minnesota in order to “make sure Antifa members don’t destroy election sites.” Secretary of State Steve Simon and Attorney General Keith Ellison warned that the security’s presence could be against the law. Trump recently suggested deploying military personnel to voting sites but other sources, such as the Washington Post, think this would intimidate voters.
