The Army’s elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (160th SOAR), also known as the “Night Stalkers, is the world’s premier rotary-wing unit that specializes in transport, attack, reconnaissance missions, and special-operations units. The unit is born from a failed attempt on Operation Eagle Claw in 1980. Composed of four battalions, the unit operates three helicopter platforms and about 140 aircrafts.
