Pararescuemen earn Bronze Stars for bravery in Afghanistan | Air Force Magazine

Two pararescuemen have been awarded Bronze Stars for their bravery and heroic actions that saved the lives of partner forces on two separate occasions in 2019. Master Sgt. Adam Fagan was attached to a team of Army Special Operations Detachment Force Alpha and Afghan Special Forces during a raid against Taliban forces. When they were attacked by enemy fire and explosives, Fagan continually engaged the enemy, despite putting himself in the line of fire, in order to allow his teammates to help a wounded Afghan Special Forces soldier, as well we treat the wounded and provide cover for air support. Staff Sgt. Benjamin Brudnicki was attached to a Special Forces ODA and Afghan commando team when he engaged with Taliban fighters at a distance of less than five feet with personal weapons and hand grenades. He also put himself in the line of fire in order to rescue and treat a wounded civilian, as well as provide cover for a wounded Afghan soldier.
