Angelo Sperandio and Mark Tamburro were jet-skiing in the area when they noticed a plane traveling fast and skipping along the water before it crashed into the pier. The Good Samaritans were among the first to reach the scene and help in any way that they could. One person was killed, and two others were critically injured. “Two occupants of the plane were already removed by Good Samaritans who came to their aid” the FDNY stated. Sperandio’s family stated that they were very proud of the boys for rushing to help those in need.
