A documentary directed by Erik Nelson named “Apocalypse ‘45” brings into focus the horrors of the Pacific war while serving as a tribute to veterans and those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. It is a 1 hour, a 44-minute documentary that was pulled from thousands of archival reels that were filmed in color. “I was very conscious of creating a time machine in the film to remove as many barriers between the experience of the war in the 1940s and the present-day viewer,” Nelson said in an interview with HistoryNet.
