Channel swimmer rescued after eight-hour search | BBC News

Around mid-day authorities in Dover were alerted that a man was in need of being rescued. The lone swimmers friend told the Coast Guard that his friend was attempting to swim from Dover to Calais in the English Channel. The man was eventually found after hours but he was cold and tired. He was spotted by a search vessel, brought on board, and then received medical attention.
