Turkey detains top Islamic State commander in raid | BBC News

Police in Turkey have been very alert to possible terrorists recently by conducting raids and arrests. Last month, 27 possible terrorists’ suspects were detained. The Islamic State Commander Mahmut Ozden has been receiving orders from Iraq and Syria, along with ten to fifteen other members, to carry out an attack. During the raid in Adana province, plans revealed Ozden was targeting politicians to kidnap. Long range weapons, ammunition, computers, and more were also recovered during the raid. The Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu congratulated the Turkish police for their hard work on Twitter.
