Midafternoon, the Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) were in the middle of a training flight when the malfunctioning on the plane occurred. No damage to people or property has been reported and the causes of the accident are currently under investigation. Overall the military branches have not been as lucky this summer with plane crashes. From May to June, many have lost their lives in helicopters and other planes during training exercises. These accidents have directed the Naval Safety Center to using a new online safety report system that tracks and streams the information of these mishaps.
