Scottish-born American industrialist and philanthropist, Andrew Carnegie, is an inspiration for many. He started his career at an early age as a telegraph messenger and climbed his way up from rags to riches. He started investing in ventures and eventually entered the steel business. Over the next two decades became a dominant force in the industry. He became one of the richest Americans in history, yet he devoted himself to philanthropy and went on to proclaim: “The man who dies thus rich dies disgraced.”
