While fitness gyms are still closed during COVID-19, high-intensity interval training (HIIT) workouts may be the better option. This involves a short time of 30 to 60 seconds of high-intensity series of exercises followed by a minimal rest. Many studies have validated its key health benefits like burning more calories than regular cardio training. It targets different muscle groups and it uses bodyweight making it an effective option for weight loss. It also aids in lowering blood pressure and blood sugar. Stephen Navarreta, a personal trainer of The Tank Method, recommends doing a HIIT workout about 3 to 5 times per week.
