Poland’s Duda narrowly beats Trzaskowski in presidential vote | BBC News

Poland had been a communist country until 1989. Since then the country has never held an election with one presidential candidate beating another so narrowly. This election Duda beat Trzaskowski in the presidential vote by just 1.2%. Duda’s views are more socially conservative while his opponent Trzaskowski leans more socially liberal. However, Duda has been under much criticism after he made comments about the LGBTQ ideology being more destructive than communism, but those comments were not enough to keep him out of office.
