According to a Pew Research Center survey, 3% of U.S. adults permanently or temporarily moved back home and 6% had someone move into their household because of the pandemic. Many students and young adults have also had to move back in with their parents as their school announced temporary closures and young couples started moving in together. 28% of the respondents said that they want to reduce the risk of contracting the virus, 8% percent moved due to job loss and another 10% of respondents cited other financial reasons. The results of this survey cannot yet confirm the number of permanent moves in the next coming months but has provided insight into the housing situations people are seeing amid the virus.
