In 2003 the commander of the KSK special forces was forced to step down after being accused of being close to far-right extremist. However, 17 years later the group is still facing allegations of being too far-right. The current KSK captain has asked the defense minister Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer to investigate the proclaimed “toxic culture of acceptance.” For now, the operations of the KSK are being assigned to other units and some systems will be suspended while they are under investigation.
