China, along with a few other countries have planted an embassy on a small remote island located in the Pacific. The site of geo-political competition is called Kiribati. This island serves as a self-governed island that is controlled by Beijing. While these islands used to have close ties with America, their loyalty is shifting towards Beijing which offers them diplomatic and economic outreach.
