Afghan Security Forces suffer bloodiest week in 19 years | VOA News

Must Read

In the past 19 years, this week has been one of the deadliest. According to a tweet sent out by a spokesperson for NSC, Javid Faisal, there were 422 attacks carried out by the Taliban in over 32 provinces. Those attacks left 550 wounded and 291 members of the Afghan National and Defense Security Forces killed. Some of those killed included 42 civilians involving both women and children. As the violence continues many are hoping for intra Afghan negations. President Ashraf Ghani seems to be hesitant on negotiating with the Taliban, which would possibly include releasing 5,000 Taliban prisoners.
