India-China clash: Modi says soldiers’ deaths ‘will not be in vain’ | BBC News

Much of their dispute is over the border, specifically the self-proclaimed border that Chinese soldiers tried to put up, the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Recently many Indian soldiers have died in the rocky terrain of the Galwan Valley despite there being no gunfire in 42 years. The clash of soldiers ended up with the Chinese outnumbering the Indian soldiers and there have been reports of the Indian soldiers being beat to death.
