AP News talked to various families who will have to say goodbye to their loved ones while they serve on the battlefield both figuratively and literally. However, these deployments require extra steps and are different than ones before. Soldiers will be required to quarantine for two weeks, either on base if not married or at home if they are. They will also be screened for COVID-19 and if any red flags come up then they will be quarantined again for another 2 weeks in Kuwait. Soldiers will also have to practice social distancing measures including bringing food from the dining hall to-go. Many of the families now will not have to just worry about the enemy but the virus as well.
