These Chinese firms were blacklisted for Uighur oppression. Now they want to sell COVID-19 surveillance tools to the West | Business Insider

A group of major Chinese companies that have been put on the US blacklist for their contributions to the discrimination and detainment of Uighur Muslims are now selling their technologies to companies. They are selling the same thermal screening and facial recognition software that was used in mosques to persecute and find Uighur Muslims. The ACLU stated that technologies like this could be dangerous to civil liberties. The companies are Hikvision, Dahua, SenseTime, Megvii, and iFlytek
