Al-Qaeda chief in north Africa Abdelmalek Droukdel killed – France | BBC News

Drokudel was in charge of the Islamic State in North Africa. He was the mind behind many attacks and built devices that have killed and injured many people. He was killed in Mali on May 19th by French forces in an effort to combat terrorism. Another result of the French efforts was the capturing of Mohamed Mrabet, the Islamic State group commander. This was all announced by the French Defense Minister Florence Parly.
