76 years ago, on June 6th, troops stormed the beaches of Normandy marking what is now known as D Day. Columnist Christopher Acker who is a retired Army Colonel writes about what it means to sacrifice for one’s country and reflects on the history that was made. Over 4,000 U.S soldiers died in what is known as the largest “airborne and amphibious” U.S. military assault in history.
