U.S. security assessment offers limited evidence extremists drive protests | Reuters

On June 1st, the DHS released an assessment that dove into who is behind the violence intermixed with the protests that have occurred in the U.S. The assessment does not have much evidence behind the claims that many have been making according to Reuters. While Reuters did not have access to the whole document here are some of their findings. First, there is very limited evidence that organized extremists are behind the turmoil. Second, there is no evidence of white supremacists causing violence at the physical events, however they have worked online to cause tensions between both protestors and officer’s by calling out for acts of violence. Lastly, most of the people who were arrested at the protests identified and were from the city that they got arrested in.
