Scott Mann is a former Green Beret who completed multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan for 23 years during his Army career. Now working as an advisor for senior special forces officials and federal law enforcement, Mann believes the U.S. needs to pay more attention to ISIS during the coronavirus pandemic. “I think we take our eye off the ball, in something like a pandemic, and ISIS drives a truck right through it — literally,” commented Mann. The European Union counterterrorism coordinator has also mentioned that ISIS and other terror organizations could use this time to grow, as everyone is focused on the pandemic. There is also concern that ISIS fighters who returned to their own county could start up a new cell there.
