While the coronavirus pandemic has spread to all parts of the globe, certain U.S. cities have been hit harder than others. The top 100 metro areas in the U.S. have been examined in order to determine which ones have the best and worst chance of overcoming the coronavirus. Overall the smaller college towns are in the best position to recover, such as Raleigh, NC, and Denver CO. Washington DC is also more likely to recover due to the larger volume of highly educated workers and architecture regulations. New York City has been hit the hardest, and it will likely be the hardest to recover. “It is a highly educated area, but so many large urban centers have an outsize share of residents living in big cities. That may be difficult to sustain, especially in the short term.”
