While many of the people who contract the coronavirus recover, there have been over 2,000 deaths in the UK. BBC has spoken with three people who had to be hospitalized after catching the virus. Karen Mannering was six months pregnant when she came down with a cough and fever that would not go away before it progressed into breathing difficulty. She tested positive for the virus and also had pneumonia in both her lungs. Another woman, Jessie Clark, was unable to receive actual testing for the virus due to shortages, but her doctor was positive she had it. She was only in the hospital for a few hours before being sent home, and they believe her boyfriend is an asymptomatic carrier. A third patient believed he contracted the virus from someone in his choir and spent several days in the hospital.
