Beret flown in space for retiring PJ | WING 919th Special Operations Wing

Chief Master Sgt. Michael Ziegler’s retirement ceremony was held on May 2nd, and many of those who would normally attend had to send videos instead. One of these people was Air Force Colonel and NASA astronaut Nick Hague, who also had a unique gift to give to Ziegler. When Hague made his second flight to the ISS, he brought a beret with him. Now, he is giving it to Ziegler in honor of his 33 years of service as a pararescuemen. The purple beret has orbited the earth 200 times and images of it in space can be seen in the article’s gallery.
