Marine Corps Col. Peter D. Huntley has been nominated to pick up a star to become a brigadier general. He is currently the deputy commander of Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The Defense Department also announced numerous other promotions and new command assignments. The current commander of the Marine Corps Forces Pacific, Lt. Gen. Lewis A. Craparotta, has been nominated to lead Training and Education Command. Maj. Gen. Mark R. Wise has also been nominated for his third star and will fill the vacant deputy commandant for aviation slot.
