Members from the Special Operations Joint Task Force could be seen gathered around a track field in Kuwait drinking O’Doul’s following an intense workout. The workout that was just completed and the warm beer is in honor of Chief Petty Officer Charles H. Keating IV. Keating was a Navy SEAL who was killed in action while participating in an operation to rescue Coalition advisors from an attack by Daesh four years ago on May 3rd. He deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and was the lead petty officer of the SEAL’s West Coast sniper/reconnaissance training cell. His teammates and friends now complete the grueling workout followed by his favorite beer every year in his memory and as a memorial.
