The late drug lord Amado Carrillo Fuentes’ home has been auctioned off by the Mexican government in Mexico City. The home sold for over $2 million and has been sitting vacant for over 23 years. Fuentes, known as “Lord of the Skies”, died in 1997 following a botched plastic surgery and got his nickname from smuggling drugs on his private planes. He was one of the most powerful drug lords during the 1980s and 1990s, starting out with marijuana smuggling before graduating to cocaine he would buy in Columbia. In 1997 he died after attempting to get plastic surgery that would change his face and appearance in order to avoid being captured.
