The Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota and their pandemic experts believe the coronavirus issues will continue for two more years. In the next 18 months, 60-70 percent of the population should expect to become infected as it continues to spread. Experts are also warning that the U.S. should also prepare for a large second wave in the fall and winter during flu season. Mike Osterholm, Marc Lipsitch, Dr. Kristine Moore, and John Barry are all experts in this field from numerous installations such as Harvard, the University of Minnesota, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. They all have stated that the coronavirus will continue at this rate until there is herd immunity. Herd immunity is expected to take more effect in around two years and will continue to do so over the next several years.
