Latin America has been hit especially hard by the coronavirus pandemic, with it only increasing the amount of violence and unrest. The virus and major drop in oil prices are also causing extreme economic hardship and more political corruption. The drug cartels have been hit as well, but many are afraid they will adapt and use the unrest to their advantage. Many of the cartels are struggling to move their product with air and sea travel being drastically lower than normal. One concern is that these groups will turn to other forms of crime such as robberies, or risk more human life to sell their drugs.
