Around 16,000 Boeing employees will be laid off after the company experienced a loss of $1.7 billion just from the core foundations. With air travel being almost completely diminished and the 737 Max still grounded, the company took a massive loss during the first quarter. Many of the job cuts will come from the commercial plane units. Currently 70,000 employees are now being offered a voluntary lay-off package in hopes to bring down the number of involuntary ones. All of the job cuts are expected to be made by the end of 2020.
