The al-Qaida affiliated group, the al-Shabaab terror organization, launched an attack on the Halane Base Camp on the outskirts of Mogadishu, Somalia. The heavy mortar fire left at least four civilian family members dead. Mortar shells were fired on the base from an unknown location and in quick succession. Many activities within the base had been suspended due to a rise in positive coronavirus cases. Al-Shabaab took responsibility for the attack and has commented that they successfully completed an attack against their enemies.
