Questions and rumors regarding North Korea’s leader Kim Jong-un have been flying due to his absence. Currently Kim has been out of the public eye for two weeks, and many are wondering if he is sick, dead, or hiding from the coronavirus. The North Korean government has been assuring everyone the leader is alive and well, but many believe otherwise. U.S. and regional intelligence sources have rejected these rumors and refuse to comment on them as there is no proof either way. “Regardless of who assumes power, there are no indications that a successor would pursue different domestic or foreign policies,” stated Bruce Klingner, a former CIA Korea official.
