His absence quickly created a stir, and reports began to surface that he was gravely ill and even brain-dead. Despite these rumors the presidential office in Seoul has continued to deny any illness of the president. An anonymous source has also claimed that he was dealing with respiratory issues last week, leading many to wonder if he contracted the coronavirus. However, sources soon reported that Kim Jong-un actually had major heart surgery and was still recovering, a claim North Korea has yet to deny.
