The U.S. Army Special Operations Command has chosen Brig. Gen. Allan M. Pepin to be the deputy to the commanding general. Pepin is currently the commander of the U.S. Army Special Operations Aviation Command, also located at Fort Bragg. He is an Army pilot, served with the 82nd Airborne Division, and deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. The announcement also included that Brig. Gen. Scott A. Jackson will become the Security Force Assistance Command. Jackson was previously at Fort Benning as the commander of the 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade.
