Earlier this month the Department of Defense order all service members to wear masks on military installations in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Even before this order, riggers from the Army’s 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne) had been using their skills to create masks for service members. These masks have been sent to personnel across Eglin Air Force Base and the clinic at Hurlburt Field. “I signed up to serve my country, and this is a way to do it,” commented Sgt. Zachary Davies, one of the soldiers sowing masks. Davies also noted that the masks are being made from surgical draping obtained from the hospital on base.
