The Wounded Warrior Project will be using $10 million to assist injured veterans who are struggling financially due to the coronavirus. Those who are registered with the group can apply to receive $1,000 grants to help pay for food, medication, and rent payments. “Due to their injuries… Many are coping with a weakened immune system, increased isolation, and financial hardship. We will do all we can to help these warriors and their families through these immensely challenging times,” commented retired Lt. Gen. Mike Linnington, CEO of the group. This comes days after the announcement that veteran unemployment shot up this past month and now sits at 4.1%.
