Tom Inglesby, the director of the Center for Health Security at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, has helped compile a list of what needs to happen before the U.S. should lift the coronavirus pandemic restrictions. While no one is a fan of the quarantine measures and business closures, social distancing had to occur in order to curb the spread of the virus. First, before any state loosens up on lockdown restrictions the past two weeks must have shown a decline in coronavirus cases, as well as considering neighboring sates and areas. Even if this requirement is met, the state must have adequate testing capabilities and enough PPE for medical staff and those with a compromised immune system. If these three main points are not met before the restrictions are lifted, the virus will make a resurgence and continue to spread at a faster rate.
