Joann Yost’s late husband was with the 3rd Special Forces Group’s 3rd Battalion when he deployed to Iraq. Six months in, a bomb went off inside a building, causing it to collapse while Master Sgt. Anthony “Tony” Yost was still inside. Exactly ten years later, Joann was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent chemotherapy. After losing her hair and being unhappy with wigs she purchased online, she decided to open a shop designed to help cancer survivors with their confidence and provide a safe environment for them. Her shop, Perruque Boutique, assists those with cancer to find wigs and headbands that allow them to begin a new healing process. One of Joann’s associates has commented that sometimes Joann gives away the wigs for free to those who can’t afford them.
